Don't confuse the Detox Tremor with amp-style tremolo, or "classic" tremolo pedals. The Detox Tremor is a square-wave tremolo, producing a distinct on/off sound. But with controls for speed ("Frequency") and depth ("Severity"), you can dial-in everything from slight pulsing, to a quick stutter, to helicopter-like chop. The Detox Tremor also includes a "Recovery" control to make up for any perceived volume loss that is typical with tremolo effects, and it is even capable of a good bit of volume boost.
Now, people are telling me that they are pleasantly surprised by the smooth sounds you can get at lower settings. Sure, I tried to make it as versatile as possible. But, as you might expect with a name like Detox Tremor, it truly excels at sounds that are not gentle, clean, or pretty. This pedal loves to CHOP CHOP CHOP! There are a lot of great sounds to be found within the ranges of these three little knobs.
