Vick Audio Violet Ram's Head - Fuzz

While the early version of the BMP's all used the same circuit schematic several different combinations of parts values were used giving distinct flavors to the different versions of the early BMP’s. The Violet Ram’s Head version was produced in the early to mid-70’s and was named for the violet ink used to print the graphics on the box and the “Ram’s Head” logo.

Of the classic BMP versions I have tried, the Violet Ram’s Head is probably the most unique sounding of the variations. It is a very high gain pedal like the early Triangles and 73 Ram’s Heads but it's fuzz has a smoother texture that reminds me of some of the Russian made models. What makes this version really unique to me is the higher voicing of this pedal. The Violet Ram’s Head may be the perfect fit for those people with its smooth saturated fuzz and brighter voicing.

As always with my BMP reproduction a switch has been added for three mid-range options scooped (stock) as well as flat and boosted mids.
